NOTES
Fresno opens the month of Dec. as the top team in the Western Division with 39-points and have won seven of their last eight.
Fresno was victorious in Game 1 against the Spartans last night at Gateway Ice Center, outscoring the Spartans 8-2. This was the first time the two teams had met during the new season and the first time this season that the Spartans faced off against a Western Division opponent .
Zack Turpin and Petr Philippov both lit up the score-sheet in last night's tilt. Turpin would end the night with 2 goals, 1 assist while Philippov would end the night with 2 goals, 2 assists.
Nick Leech also would go on to finish the night with 2 goals.
Fresno currently has two players that sit in the top 5 on the League Scoring board:
Narek Aleksanyan (20G, 31A)
Zack Turpin (28G, 22A)
Monsters starting net minder, Max Karlenzig, holds a .938 SV% having won eight of his 10 games.
A FRESNO VICTORY WOULD…
- Be the 325th win in franchise history
- Improve the Monsters' season record to 14-6-1-1
KEYS TO THE GAME
Don't Get Distracted: The Fresno Monsters have the largest home arena in the league and with more seats, come more fans. The Monsters are known for their showmanship within the league and they will have to make sure not to lose focus on winning the game.
Don't feed the Spartans: Southern Oregon is hungry and will want to steal a road win in order to snap their 11 game winless streak. Making them a potentially dangerous threat when backed into the corner.
